Đèn mõm nhái xe ô tô anh hùng Lộc Văn Trọng
Đèn mõm nhái của Anh hùng lực lượng vũ trang nhân dân Lộc Văn Trọng, chiến sĩ lái xe thuộc Cục Vận tải, Tổng cục Cung cấp sử dụng khi vượt đèo Pha Đin trong chiến dịch Điện Biên Phủ, năm 1954.
Điện Biên Phủ là chiến dịch lớn nhất, là cuộc đọ sức quyết liệt giữa ta và địch, do đó công tác hậu cần phải bảo đảm một khối lượng vũ khí đạn dược, lương thực, thực phẩm, quân trang, quân dụng, thuốc men lớn nhất, nhanh nhất, liên tục và dài ngày nhất, phải bảo đảm kỹ thuật cao nhất và phức tạp nhất so với các chiến dịch khác. Trên đường vận chuyển hậu cần, máy bay Pháp đánh phá quân đội ta gây thương vong nhiều. Chúng xả đạn xuống dọc thành núi,- các chòm cây, cỏ gianh trên đồi bốc cháy ngùn ngụt. Trước tình hình đó, đồng chí Lộc Văn Trọng đã phát minh sáng kiến lắp chiếc đèn mõm nhái ở gầm xe, ánh sáng mờ mờ đủ để lái xe có thể nhìn thấy đường mà không bị địch phát hiện. Chuyến đi thử của Lộc Văn Trọng thành công. Từ đó đêm đêm những chiếc xe không đèn, trở đầy hàng nối nhau chạy về hướng tây, xe đi trong lúc pháo ta đang nhả đạn, bộ binh ta và địch đang quần nhau trong các cứ điểm, trên trời đầy pháo sáng, dưới đất chớp bom, chớp đạn nhằng nhằng, đạn lửa chi chít nổ trước, réo sau. Mỗi chiếc xe vận chuyển đến phía tây mặt trận quý giá vô cùng, vừa đáp ứng nhu cầu to lớn, kịp thời lại bớt được hàng nghìn dân công, bớt thương vong.
Chiếc đèn mõm nhái đã theo đồng chí suốt quá trình vận chuyển hàng chi viện cho các chiến dịch trong kháng chiến chống thực dân Pháp. Sau đó đồng chí lưu giữ như một kỷ vật và đã trao tặng cho Bảo tàng Hậu cần để phát huy giá trị đích thực trong công tác bảo tàng.
